NE Symposium Call for Committee Members

The Workers’ Compensation Association of Nebraska Board of Directors are seeking individuals interested in serving on the planning committee for the Nebraska Symposium. The planning committee is a group of talented, outgoing and motivated individuals who have an interest in serving the workers’ compensation community. If you’re interested in volunteering for one of the sub-committees, please complete the form below. A member from the Board of Directors will reach out following your submission.

Agenda | Speakers

The primary responsibility of the agenda and speaker’s committee is to create a diverse
conference agenda related to current topics in the workers’ compensation industry. This
includes creating the agenda, recruiting qualified presenters and compiling information for
continuing education hours.

Vendors | Sponsors

The primary responsibility of the vendors and sponsors committee is to recruit valuable vendors
and sponsors in the workers’ compensation industry. This committee is also responsible for
maintaining communication and deliverables with each vendor/sponsor, and ensuring needs
are met. The committee must also coordinate logistics for vendor space and work with
marketing committee for website and print deliverables.

Marketing | Website | Print

The primary responsibility of the marketing, website and print committee is to advertise to
possible attendees, vendors and sponsors on a consistent basis. This includes printed
campaigns, email campaigns and social media. This committee is also responsible for updating
and maintaining the Nebraska Symposium website through a third party source. Additional
tasks include designing and printing materials for the event.

Accommodations

The primary responsibility of the accommodations committee is to coordinate hotel, conference
room, and food/beverage logistics. This includes conference setup, food and beverage selections,
audio/video needs, room reservations and parking. Additional tasks include assisting with
registration during the event and providing attendees with city attraction information.

Finance | Registration

The primary responsibility of the finance and registration committee is to track revenue streams
from attendee, sponsor and vendor registrations. This also includes tracking and posting
payments, tracking and paying expenses and providing updates to the other committees on a
consistent basis regarding financial status. This committee is also responsible for working the
conference registration table during the event.
